Day 1: Yangon - Mawlamyine

Depart by road about 288 km to the south (about 6 - 7 hrs drive), the eastern coast of the Gulf of Mottama (Martaban). On the way, you will pass by small villages and see the ways of life of people. Arrive in Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State, in the late afternoon. Enjoy the sunset over the Thanlwin River and overlooking view of the city from U Zina Pagoda which is situated on the pagoda hill (Taung Yoe Tan).

Day 2: Mawlamyine and environment

Breakfast at the hotel.   Day-return excursion to the famous places around Mawlamyine. First, visit Win Sein Tawya, a famous meditation center which is organized by a venerable Buddhist monk. Then, drive to Thanbyuzayat (about 30 km), which was the western terminus of the infamous Burma-Siam Railway. Continue about 9 km to Kyaikkami, a small coastal resort and missionary centre during the British era. Visit Yele Paya Pagoda, the main focus of Kyaikkami. In the late afternoon, drive back to Mawlamyine and enjoy the time at the Strand Road.

Day 3: Mawlamyine - Hpa An

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Hpa An, the capital of Kayin State (about 1 hr drive). Visit a famous village with ancient pagodas which are built by famous Burmese merchant in 1900s. Admire the amazing Zwe Ka Bin Mountain which is the landmark of Kayin State. In the afternoon, visit the Kaw Gun Cave with thousands of Buddhist images in the lime stone caves.

Day 4: Hpa An - Yangon

After breakfast, visit the lively market in Hpa An and drive back to Yangon (about 5 hrs). On the way, visit a village which is famous for its old palace wall with beautiful stone carvings.
Arrive back in Yangon, in the late afternoon, transfer to the hotel and time at leisure.
