Myanmar Classic Tour (9 days / 8 nights)

YANGON – BAGAN   – MANDALAY – PINDAYA – INLE LAKE–– YANGON

 

Day 1: Yangon

Arrive in Yangon International Airport. Welcome by the local guide and drive to the city. An orientation tour is arranged in the city of Yangon which is known as garden city with colonial buildings. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda and enjoy the time at the pagoda platform until the sunset.

Day 2: Yangon – Bagan

Early morning flight to Bagan, Sightseeing in Bagan by bus; Bagan is the former royal capital and, with more than 2229 religious monuments. It is one of the major archaeological zones in South East Asia. Full day visit to the most important temples and pagodas.

Day 3: Bagan, Excursion to Sale and Mount Popa

After breakfast, drive to Sale and walking tour in this little town with impressive colonial villas, and the 150-year old Yout Sone Kyaung teak monastery with magnificent carvings. Inside the monastery one can find a beautiful small museum with a collection of Buddhist art. Then tour continues to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano, which is the abode of Nats (guardian spirits). On the top, there are pagodas and shrines in different style. A short stop on the way will be made to study toddy farmer's life like collecting toddy juice, making molasses, jaggery, fermentation and distillation of toddy palm wine and making hand-made oil. Return by coach to Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan – Amarapura - Mandalay

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer by car to Bagan airport for your morning flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, visit Amarapura (former capital) with Mahaghandayone Monastery, a silk weaving factory and the world’s longest teak wood bridge, named U-Bein. And then drive to Mandalay, Visit to the Mahamuni Pagoda, with one of the most venerated Buddha statues of Myanmar. Visit to various handicraft and art workshops, including a stone carver, bronze foundry, traditional embroidery and a gold leave workshop. Visit to the fascinating Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung or Golden Palace monastery, entirely built with teak wood and World's largest stone slab book of Kuthodaw Pagoda. Stop at the central market for shopping .Enjoy the Sunset over Mandalay Hill.

Day 5:  Sagaing – Mingun

Excursion by bus to the beautiful Sagaing Hill with its over thousand of hermitages and sanctuaries. Sagaing is an important place for Buddhist devotees and a centre for meditation in Myanmar. Visit to the Sun-U-Ponnya-Shin Pagoda on the hill top to enjoy the view and stop at a nunnery.  In the afternoon boat trip to Mingun und visit to the famous Mingun Pagoda, entirely built by brick. Its facade is marked with a distinctive crack because of earthquake. The world’s largest hanging intact bell is located in Mingun. Return to Mandalay.

Day 6: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake

After Breakfast you will be transferred to airport for flight to Heho.

Drive about 2 hours to the small quiet town of Pindaya and be ready to enjoy the great scenic beauty of the country side along the road to Pindaya.

Visit places are Pindaya caves, well – known for its thousands of Buddha statues from various kinds of materials. Shan paper making factory, afternoon drive to Nyaung Shwe where Inle Lake is situated .

Day 7: Inle Lake- Indein Pa o Village

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the five day’s market at Inle Lake, a local market and a local village for the village life.

Continue tour to the western bank of Inle Lake upstream on a creek to get Indein Pagodas where thousands of Shan style stupas exist. One will also get a chance to stroll around bamboo forest and visit local villages to experience village life of tribal people.

Sightseeing will also include a lotus weaving workshop and a silversmith workshop, blacksmith shop at Ywama village!

Continue excursion on the lake by private long-tail boat which will include the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda with 5 Buddha statues. See the weaving village of Inpawkhone and a cheroot rolling workshop as well as see floating gardens, leg rowers, local fishing methods and village life of Inle Lake. Continuation of tour with a 150 years old wooden monastery, Nga Phe Chaung Monastry filled with beautiful Buddha images in various styles. This place was famous as jumping cat’s monastery.

Day 8: Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

After breakfast depart from hotel by boat, bus transfer to Heho Airport, and flight back to Yangon. Welcome and continuation of visit in Yangon.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure.
